|
| Will a bar code I purchase on this website be a U.C.C. registered bar code?
|
| |
YES. It's the "real deal".
Cheap and painless. These are U.P.C. code numbers issued directly from
the Uniform Code Council, the originator of ALL U.P.C. code numbers. |
| |
|
| Do I need a separate UPC code for
each and every product I sell? |
| |
Usually, in most cases you WILL need
a separate, unique UPC code number for each of your products. Imagine
that you are a checkout clerk at a grocery store. If someone brought
you a box of cereal, a candy bar, and a bottle of soda, wouldn't you
think it suspicious if they all rang up with exactly the same price and
description? OF COURSE! The way the cash register is able to distinguish
one product from the other is the UNIQUE U.P.C. barcoded number on each
product.
The only common exceptions are:
- Paperback books of all the same price
- SIMILAR items all placed in the same bin or shelf that are all the EXACT SAME PRICE and ITEM NUMBER (for example:
beach balls of varying patterns)
Other than these types of exceptions, if your products are DIFFERENT prices or descriptions, you need a UNIQUE UPC code number for each!
